3. Utility Coordination (Critical)

  • Service size (200A? 320A?)
  • Panel location approved?
  • Gas meter location approved?
  • New service vs upgrade?
  • Underground trench routing finalized?
  • Temporary pole needed?
  • Emergency disconnect per CEC 230.85 shown?
  • Future solar busbar calculation (120% rule) confirmed?
  • Transformer capacity check (if large home)


💧 Water

  • Meter size confirmed?
  • Backflow device required?
  • Fire sprinkler separate meter?
  • Utility trench separation verified?


🚽 Sewer

  • Cleanout locations confirmed?

  • Backwater valve required?


🌧 Drainage

4. Structural Coordination

  • Foundation type confirmed: Mat? Pier? Spread footing?

5. MEP Coordination

  • HVAC system type confirmed:Heat pump? Furnace? Mini-split?
  • Equipment locations for Condensers, Furnace / air handler
  • AC unit setbacks verified (Planning compliance)
  • Electrical panel schedule confirmed
  • EV charger rough-in?
  • Tankless location (vent clearances confirmed)
  • Gas load calc (longest run method per CPC)
  • Low voltage plan?
  • Security / camera conduits?


6. Design & Finish Lock-In

  • Exterior materials finalized?
  • Window schedule confirmed?
  • Door swings confirmed?
  • Cabinet layouts frozen?
  • Appliance specs provided?
  • Lighting fixture responsibility clarified?
  • Stair & railing design finalized?
  • Waterproofing assemblies clarified?
